Choose a single drum roller if:
- You compact soil, gravel, or base material
- You work on large road or foundation projects
- You need high impact force for thick layers
Choose a double drum roller if:
- You compact asphalt on roads or parking lots
- You need a smooth, finished surface
- You work on thinner layers
Many contractors own both: a single drum for base work and a double drum for final asphalt.
