If you need one roller to do both asphalt and soil, choose a single drum roller with smooth drum and bolt-on pads. Use the smooth drum for asphalt and attach pad feet for soil. The XCMG XS123 (12-ton) or XS143 (14-ton) are good choices. For mostly asphalt work, a double drum roller is better. For mostly soil, a single drum with pads is better. If you do both jobs equally, consider buying two rollers.
